Our members come from all over Virginia and beyond, brought together by a shared love of sailing, learning, and spending time on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. If you're interested in racing, cruising, junior programs, or just enjoying life at the Club, this is the place for you.

What We Look For in New Members
FBYC is powered by its members. We're a hands-on, community-driven club, and we’re looking for folks who are excited to get involved and grow with us. Ideal candidates are people who:

Love (or want to learn) to sail, race, or cruise

Enjoy helping run events, programs, or regattas

Want to build sailing skills alongside experienced and supportive sailors

Have kids who are interested in sailing or want to be involved in our Junior programs

Are happy to volunteer a couple of days per year to keep the club running strong
Dues and Fees
Membership includes a one-time initiation fee and annual dues. We offer flexible payment options and lower rates for younger applicants. You can pay by check, credit card (with a small processing fee), or through convenient monthly bank drafts.

Try Before You Join
Curious what FBYC is all about? Come to one of our events — everyone is welcome to register and attend!
Just click “Sign Up” on any public event listing. If you don’t yet have login credentials, the site will walk you through how to create a username and password so you can sign up. Once you do, you’ll be able to join us and get a real feel for what life is like at the Club.
