JUNE REGATTA WITH JUNIORS

JUNE 21, 2003

DESCRIPTION

This event will consist of two (2) round the buoys races. All boats are required to have one junior crewmember for every adult crewmember on board. Junior sailors shall drive at least fifty (50) percent of the course.

PHRF Non Spinnaker will be sailed allowing only one (1) headsail downwind.

Program

There will be a SkipperÂ’s Meeting at 0930 hours, at the flagpole adjacent to the Jackson Creek parking lot to review the requirements of this event. Awards will be presented and refreshments will be provided by FBYC immediately following the races.

Warning Signal

The warning signal for this race will be at 1100 hours.

COURSE

The Committee Boat could be anywhere from Piankatank R. G "5" (FBYC "A"), to Piankatank R. Lt. R "2" Fl R 4s (FBYC "F") or beyond. The starting and finishing lines will be between the orange or yellow flag on the Committee Boat and a drop -mark pursuant to Appendix D. A round the buoys course using drop marks as shown in Appendix D will be used, with windward start attempted

The course length for this race will be adjusted by the Race Committee so that the boats participating can reasonably expect to finish within the time limit.

TIME LIMIT

If one boat finishes within two (2) hours after the start, then the race will be valid for all boats in that class.

AWARDS

Awards for this race will be given at the FBYC year-end awards ceremony.

CBYRA SANCTION

This event is not CBYRA sanctioned and the results of this race will not be used to determine winners of FBYC perpetual trophies.
