DESCRIPTION

The Sears Cup is the U. S. Junior Championship for triplehanded boats, the F. Greg Bemis Cup is doublehanded boats and the D. Verner Smythe Trophy is for singlehanded boats. The final Smythe and Bemis Cup Championships will be held in Lasers and 420s near Toledo, OH. The Sears Championships will be held at Detroit Yacht Club in Flying Scots. CBYRA REGIONALS

The CBYRA regionals for all three cups will be on July 9 at West River Sailing Club.

FBYC PLANS

FBYC should send at least 2 teams to each of the three CBYRA Regionals on July 9 at West River. The Sears regatta will use Flying Scots this year, so we need boats to practice with- especially during Junior Week. The Bemis will be in Club 420s. We can practice during Junior week and use the FBYC 420s! We will be forming teams in early June.

The Smythe will be in Lasers. We don’t have many Junior Laser sailors, but I know we could find someone who would be willing to help get you going!

WHO

Eligibility – All competitors including alternates must:

A. Have reached their 13th birthday, but not their 19th birthday during the calendar year;

B. Be members of US SAILING to compete at the Sailing Association level and up; and

C. Be members of a Sailing Club

AREA C ELIMINS

Winners of the regional races advance to the Area C championships. Winners of the Area Championships advance to the finals.

DIRECTIONS

From U.S. 50 Eastbound, take Route 424 south (Davidsonville Road). Go left on Route 214. Turn right on Route 468. Go left on Route 255 to Galesville. Turn left at water's edge; WRSC is 1/4 mile further on the left.
