DESCRIPTION

This will be a match-racing event for J/24 class sailboats to be held over two race days at Fishing Bay Yacht Club, sponsored by Fishing Bay Yacht Club and J24 Fleet 71 (Hampton Roads.)

The Seeding series (Day 1) on Saturday, August 21, will consist of a single or double round robin format; with a point awarded for each race win. Depending on the number of entries, multiple divisions may be formed. The top two teams per division (or the top four teams if no divisions) will move on to a championship round. The remaining teams will sail a consolation fleet series on the second day.

The Championship series (Day 2) will consist of a single elimination format, with teams seeded by day 1-point total into a bracket. Winner of a best-of-three series will advance.

PROGRAM

Food and beverages will be provided after each day's races.

Classes

Boats shall be competitor-supplied J/24 class sailboats. Boats must comply with J/24 Class Rules/Standard One-Design configuration, with the following modifications: crew count, including skipper, may be 4-6, and no weigh-ins.

COURSE

The course shall be windward/leeward with marks to starboard, twice around. Length of course will be determined by the race committee to suit conditions.

AWARDS

Awards will be presented to the top three finishers at the end of the event.

CBYRA SANCTION

This is not a sanctioned event for CBYRA High Point awards.
