SMITH POINT RACE (DISTANCE SERIES #4)

DESCRIPTION |
This event will
consist of one distance race for PHRF A, B/C, and NON-SPIN sailboats
holding valid PHRF of the Chesapeake Category 4P certificates. It will
start in the mouth of the Piankatank River in the afternoon on Saturday
August 16, 2009, and finishing outside Jackson Creek. This race is the
fourth race of the Distance Series.
PHRF NON-SPIN will be sailed allowing only one (1) headsail downwind. |

PROGRAM | A skippers meeting will be conducted by radio on VHF Channel 72 by the Race Committee at 1300 hours, if possible. | |||
Warning Signal | The warning signal for the first class will be at 1400 hours. | |||
STARTING AREA | The starting area will be in the vicinity of FBYC "C". The starting line will be between a special buoy X and the orange or yellow flag on the Committee Boat. All competitors should check in with the Race Committee boat by 1345 hours. | |||
COURSE | The first mark of the course will be either (1) special buoy Y located to windward or on the approximate magnetic course from the Committee Boat as may be displayed by numeral pennants or digits shown on the Committee Boat or (2) a government mark listed in Appendix A. The Committee Boat will display either a Y or other letter to designate the government mark followed by either A or B or C to designate the course outlined below. After rounding the first mark of the course, yachts shall sail the remaining marks of the appropriate course as set forth below unless otherwise specified by the Race Committee. Spinnaker Classes will sail either Course A or Course B, Non-Spinnaker Classes will sail either Course B or Course C. | |||
