September 19-25: MID BAY CRUISE
Isnt it about time to have a cruise that emphasizes anchoring and relaxing with peaceful fellowship together on the water? This cruise will hold forth these possibilities while at the same time providing an option for docking and exploring ashore, or just taking a dinghy tour to a restaurant if another night in the galley seems tiresome. On Saturday, September 19, cruisers will embark for anchorage or docking at Onancock, with the option for an evening at a local restaurant. Sunday will be a day of touring, reading and listening, and dinner aboard, preceded by cocktails together on the boat of choice or by raft-up. On Monday, cruisers will sail a short leg to Crisfield, crab capital of Maryland, followed by a pot luck cookout at Somers Cove Marina, where theres plenty of anchoring room and rental slips as well as a good dinghy docking facility. A second day at Crisfield offers the possibilities of a watermans museum visit, touring the Crisfield Fishing Center and the chandleries of Maryland Avenue, or a chartered ride to Smith Island. Well rested cruisers will then sail a longer leg to Solomons island Maryland on Wednesday, a Thursday layover for shopping and museum hopping, and a sail back to Reedville on Friday for Saturdays crab fest (see separate write up for this event). Chaired by Fay and John Koedel and Lyons and George Burke. Contact burkeg@paraccess.com or cell 804-516-8600.
