June 4-14: SOUTHERN BAY CRUISE AND OpSail 2012

The City of Norfolk is one of five cities to be selected to host OpSail 2012.  We have planned this cruise to coincide with many of the special events that will take place in Hampton Roads with the largest gathering of tall ships in the world.  In addition to the tall ships, the US Navy will be present with several vessels to commemorate the War of 1812 and the birth of “The Star Spangled Banner.”  We plan to be on hand to observe the  military sea and air parade and  especially to view the tall ship parade that begins at the Lynnhaven Anchorage. Near the end of the cruise, we will escort the tall ships in their parade of sail up the Chesapeake on their way to Baltimore.  On our way north, we will make a detour up the York River to spend our last night of the cruise at the York River Yacht Haven.
