June 8-12: FBYC/OCEAN CRUISING CLUB MID-BAY RALLY

The cruising group of Fishing Bay Yacht Club, celebrating its 75th Anniversary, will join the Ocean Cruising Club in celebrating its 60th Anniversary with a cruise of the mid-Bay region of the Chesapeake. The tentative plan is as follows:

• Sun. June 8: Dinnerin Crisfield, Maryland (location TBA). Dockage is ample at Somer's Cove Marina or anchor out. 37.97749 N   075.85760 W
• Mon. June 9: Sail to Little Bay (approx 34nm). Cocktails on the beach. Dinner onboard. 37.63622 N   076.31678 W
• Tue. June 10: Sail to Fishing Bay (approx 16nm).  Dinner ashore at Fishing Bay Yacht Club. 37.54084 N   076.33403 W
• Wed. June 11: Sail to the East River off of Mobjack Bay (approx 33nm). Potluck dinner ashore at Williams Wharf. 37.40674 N   076.34573 W
• Thu. June 12: Sail to Sarah's Creek (approx 23nm). Dock at York River Yacht Haven or anchor out. Dinner ashore at River’s Edge. 37.25711 N   076.47873 W

Pre-cruise activity would offer participants a trip to Tangier Island by ferry during the day on Sunday. Explore this unique slice of Elizabethan England, before it disappears into the bay.  Post-cruise activities include visiting historic Yorktown directly across the York River from Sarah's Creek and/or a visit to the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS).
