Welcome all racers, cruisers, their families, and guests to this family-friendly event to kick-start a great year of sailing.
A great tradition at Fishing Bay Yacht Club, Opening Day begins wtih an Offshore Regatta. Following the Regatta, join the Club's Chaplain for our "Blessing of the Feet", one of the best tradional events of the year. There is no cost to attend the blessing. Immdiately following, members and their guests are invited to purchase tickets for a dinner served at 6:00, with live entertaintment starting at 6:30.

Racing: One medium distance race with a first warning at 1100 with a skippers meeting by the flagpole at 0900
The bar at Ric's Place will open at 5:00
Blessing of the Fleet 5:30 pm ( Fishing Bay Side, on the grass) Bar will NOT be open during the Blessing of the Fleet
Dinner 6:00
Gourmet food stations serving fresh selections of seafood, pork, chicken, and vegetarian options.
Band 6:30 – 10:30 pm - Music provided by members of Band on the Run

NOTICE The event information below, used in conjunction with the General Offshore Notice of Race, comprises the complete NOTICE OF RACE for the event.
DESCRIPTION This regatta will consist of one race for PHRF (A, B, C, NON-SPIN) sailboats holding a valid PHRF of the Chesapeake certificate, J/70 one design class, and CRUISING Class sailboats having a handicap rating assigned by FBYC.
Planned format for all boats will be one medium distance race around government and drop marks. PHRF NON-SPIN will be sailed allowing only one (1) headsail downwind.
PROGRAM On Saturday, April 11, the Blessing of the Fleet will begin at 1730 hours, followed by dinner and awards. Dinner is served promptly at 1800 hours. See above for more information.
SKIPPERS' MEETING There will be a Flag Raising and Skippers’ Meeting at 0900 hours at the flagpole adjacent to the Jackson Creek parking lot to review any changes to the GSIs and SSIs for the offshore races.
WARNING The warning signal for the first start will be at 1100.
STARTING AREA The Committee Boat could be anywhere from Piankatank R. G “5” (FBYC “A”) and Piankatank R. Lt. R “2” Fl R 4s (FBYC “F”) or beyond.
Time limit If one boat in a class finishes within five (5) hours of the actual start time of the race for that class, then the race will be valid for all boats in that class.
