Come join us for the Annual Fourth of July Cookout. This cookout is for everyone not just racers! This year we are featuring "Ed and Diane's Special Dogs and Burgers", "Cheeky Monkey Mac n' Cheese", Fishing Bay Slaw, and other sides and fixings (see below). The cookout will start at 3 PM...after the long distance race (see below). We will provide refreshments for all ages.
We will have games for adults and kids, music, and lots more!. Bring your picnic blanket, lawn chair, and an umbrella!
Adults are $10, kids 12 and under are $5, adult non-members are $15. This year we are running a special price for families. No family will spend more than $30. At checkout - choose the family option if your total is greater than $30. Also - please include the number of people in your family that will be eating in the comments field.

NOTICE The event information below, used in conjunction with the General One Design Notice of Race, comprises the complete NOTICE OF RACE for the event.
DESCRIPTION The Long Distance Race is a handicap race open to any One Design boat 24’ length or under at the water line. The Portsmouth Yardstick D-PN Handicap System will be used to score finishes. See www.ussailing.org/portsmouth. NO OPTIS WILL RACE IN THE LONG DISTANCE RACE DUE TO LONG DISTANCE AND RISK OF OPPRESSIVE HEAT. Advance registration is encouraged at www.fbyc.net.

LATE REGISTRATION & CHECK IN At 0900 on the downstairs porch of the main club house.
SKIPPERS' MEETING 1000 between the club and the Fishing Bay dock.
WARNING The warning signal for the start will be at 1100.
TIME LIMIT If one boat finishes within 4 hours from the start, the race will be valid for all racers.
SOCIAL Snacks and refreshments will be served following racing.
COURSES The course will be one of the courses described below using government marks in the Piankatank River for marks of the course:

AWARDS The skipper of the winning boat will receive the Hicks Trophy upon which his/her name will be engraved. Other places are as described in the Sailing Instructions.
