Few sporting events inspire us as much as the Olympics, and few international sailing events thrill as much as the Volvo Ocean Race. March 29th, you will have an opportunity to hear from a sailor that has competed in both, carrying two-time US Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year after her name. Her racing accomplishments both onshore and offshore make her a force to be reckoned with on the course, and she will be sharing with us the adventure and excitement these events bring.
Sailing is one of the unique sports where men and women compete together on a level playing field. Sally Barkow, of Team SCA 2014-2015, was part of a very successful all female team, winning a leg of the around the world race, as well as in port races. Hear about the race, with ever changing conditions and challenges, both in the race, and in the boat. Afterwards, Sally delve a little bit more into strategy itself.
You won't want to miss this chance to see one of the best match racers and sailors in the country, or to hear about one of the most exciting sailboat races in the world!! Please join Fishing Bay Yacht Club Wednesday, March 29th at 7pm at Orchard House School in Richmond, VA. Buy your tickets today before they sell out, you don't want to miss this.
