The Regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing
The Annual One Design regatta is open to the following invited classes – Flying Scot, Front Runner, Lasers (Full and Radial) Optimist Dinghy (Red, Blue, White and Green fleets), Hampton One Design, San Juan 21, and Windmill. Other classes may be added at the discretion of the Event Coordinator.
Classes with 5 or more boats registered will be given individual starts,
Invited classes not meeting the 5 boat minimum required for an individual start will be started with similarly situated classes in a Portsmouth Handicap fleet.
Additional classes may be added at the discretion of FBYC.
Each competitor will be responsible for their boats being in compliance with class rules.
The Hampton One Design 2017 National Championship will be held during the 2017 AOD Regatta. The HODs will be a three day event with racing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
All preregistered competitors are required to check in at the check in table upon their arrival at the club not later than 0925 on the first day of the regatta.
All entries MUST be registered by Saturday , August 12, 2017 at 09000.
ADVANCE REGISTRATION Competitors may register in advance on the web at www.fbyc.net. The early entry deadline is August 2, 2017 after which a late fee of $25.00 will apply.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The sailing instructions will be available at check-in and online at www.fbyc.net by August 11, 2017.
The racing areas for adult classes will be on the Piankatank River between Fishing Bay and Godfrey Bay on the North and South and Gwynn’s island to the east.
The racing areas for junior classes will be in Fishing Bay.
Hand-launched boats may use ample ramp and beach facilities. Trailered boats will be put in by tractor or may use the hoist on the North side of the property in Jackson Creek.
One completed race shall constitute the regatta.
Low-point scoring will apply with the exception of no throw-outs. This changes RRS A4.
Awards will be given to the first 3 finishers in each class.
The John R. Hawksworth Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the class winner who has been most competitive as measured both by the degree to which he has consistently been at the top of his class and the number of boats against which he has competed.
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
