Hosted by the St Mary's College of Maryland, the Governor's Cup is an overnight race that traditionally runs from the current capital of Maryland, Annapolis, to the original capital, St. Mary's City. In 2012, sailors from the Potomac River established a shorter version that starts in Dahlgren and finishes in St Mary's. We are pleased to announce that Fishing Bay Yacht Club will facilitate the start of the southern bay leg of the St Mary's Governor's Cup.
This race is the third race of the Long Distance Series.
The start will be between a yellow flag on the Race Committee boat and Rappahannock "1R". First warning is scheduled for 17:55 on Friday, August 2. Starts are planned for PHRF Spinnaker A, B and C classes, PHRF Non-Spinnaker, and Cruising boats.
