NOTICE The event information below, used in conjunction with the General One Design Notice of Race, comprises the complete NOTICE OF RACE for the event.
DESCRIPTION This is a single day of racing. If we can't be in the Caribbean, we might as well be on the Chesapeake! Join us for a Caribbean-themed regatta. Ability grouped fleets (A and B fleets) will be in effect during this race for classes that elect this option prior to the start of the event.
REGISTRATION Advance registration is expected at Regatta Network using link on documents tab.
CLASSES Flying Scot, as well as any One Design class of any three or more like or unlike boats. The Portsmouth Number (D-PN) handicapping system will be used to score classes of unlike boats. If there are fewer than three Portsmouth class boats they may participate in a parent class fleet (eg. Flying Scot) and race against them under the Portsmouth system. They will receive a Portsmouth score for this race day but will not be counted towards series scoring. The parent class will still maintain their own separate class scoring.
LATE REGISTRATION & CHECK IN At 1030 on the downstairs porch of the main clubhouse.
SKIPPERS' MEETING At the discretion of the Race Chair. If held, meeting will be at 1130.
RACING The warning signal for the first start will be at 1300 followed by subsequent races. Bring your Island spirit. Channel your inner Parrothead. Get creative with boat decorations and colorful attire.
SOCIAL Island-themed snacks and refreshments will be served following racing.
AWARDS Awards will be presented by the Race Chair shortly after the conclusion of racing. Prizes given for the most enthusiastic Caribbean sailor! Yah mohn!
