Tilghman Island is a picturesque, historical fishing village on Maryland's Eastern Shore that has attracted sailors to its marinas and land lubbers to its inns to enjoy the town, its shops, museums, and restaurants. It takes two days to get there in daylight-only sailing. The cruise begins with a briefing at 6:00 PM on April 29th with a pitch-in cocktail hour at Fannies, or the main club house, depending on our numbers. Following supper we will discuss the anchorages. Weather may change our plans. We currently are planning one night on the Coan River and another on the St. Mary's River.
On Thursday, April 30th, we will shove off, bound for our first anchorage. Once there, we will enjoy our usual socializing on the vessel identified in our meeting the previous evening.
On Friday, May 1st, we will head for Tilghman Island G1 west of Knapp’s Narrows, where we will stop at the Knapp’s Narrows Marina. I have asked them to plan on five boats showing up. We will ask for more as more of you sign up. When you sign up for this cruise, please reserve a slip there for May 1st and 2nd. That night we will take advantage of one of the town's restaurants.
Saturday, May 2nd, allows us to explore the town and enjoy the shops and museums. We will again enjoy dinner ashore.
On Sunday, May 3rd, we will shove off for our second anchorage. Instead of returning the way we came in, we will head east through Knapp’s Narrows, out to the Choptank River, and then south towards our anchorage. Once at anchor, we will again socialize on one of our boats.
On Monday, May 4th, we will head back to Deltaville.
