ONE DESIGN SPRING SERIES & ILCA DINGHY/LASER SERIES

Event Notice

Spring Series Race Day 2 & ILCA Dinghy/Laser Spring Regatta

Sat. May 15, 2021

NOTICE The event information below, used in conjunction with the General One Design Notice of Race, comprises the complete NOTICE OF RACE for the event

DESCRIPTION This is the first race in the ILCA Dinghy series and the second of the four race-day One Design Spring Series for all other classes. As this is the second event of the year, the Skippers' Meeting may involve additional discussion at the discretion of the Fleet Captains and PROs to get folks up to speed and ready for the season. The series is intended for One Design racing generally short, 30 minute, windward/leeward races held in the Fishing Bay general vicinity. Practice starts may be held before starting any real races, and races may be shortened in either duration or number. Ability grouped fleets (A and B fleets) will be in effect during this race and series for classes that elect this option.

REGISTRATION Advance registration is encouraged at www.fbyc.net, the link on the event page link or directly on Regatta Network.

CLASSES Flying Scot, Front Runner, ILCA Dinghy and any class of any three like or unlike one-design boats is also invited to race. The Portsmouth Number (D-PN) handicapping system will be used to score classes of unlike boats. If there are fewer than three Portsmouth class boats they may participate in a parent class fleet (eg. Flying Scot) and race against them under the Portsmouth system. They will receive a Portsmouth score for this race day but will not be counted towards series scoring. The parent class will still maintain their own separate class scoring.

LATE REGISTRATION & CHECK IN At 1000 on the downstairs porch of the main clubhouse.

SKIPPERS' MEETING Will be held at 1030, started by the PRO and continued by the Fleet Captains with any desired fleet discussion, questions, tips, etc.

WARNING The first warning signal will be at 1200 and several practice starts may be conducted before starting a race. Any start while flying the Lima flag will not count as a race, and boats should return to the starting area after 3 minutes of sailing upwind.

SOCIAL Due to COVID19 concerns, please check for updates with the Event Chair as we get closer to the date. We will evaluate the Social for his event as conditions evolve...

AWARDS Shortly after the conclusion of racing awards will be presented by the Race Chair for each day's racing. Overall series awards will be presented after the final series day has concluded.
