St. Mary’s River is considered by most cruisers to be one of the most wonderful anchorages on the bay. It is a wide, deep and beautiful river with high banks and mature forests.

The anchorage is approximately 47 NM from Jackson Creek.

St Mary’s College hosts the River Concert Series on several Friday evenings in June and July. Concerts take place in the amphitheater just a few steps from the river bank. The plan is to be there for the concert on Friday July 7th at 7:00 PM. Cruisers can make the trip in one day with an early start, or could leave a day earlier and break it up into two easy days with a stop at Mill Creek or Reedville.

Historic St. Mary’s City, the first capital of Maryland, has four living history exhibits including the Maryland Dove. The exhibits are open from 10 AM to 4 PM. Self guided tours are available and we are penciled in for Saturday July 8th.

NOTE: The following weekend is a trip to Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club.  There may be some who wish to stay out the whole week and work their way back to Indian Creek.  Nancy Powell / Chris Lindbloom are coordinators for that.
