Event Type: This event is for all skill levels with custom in boat instruction available and is an opportunity to try your hand at small boat sailing or sailboat racing. This is a great opportunity to get out on the water with fellow sailors, sharpen your sailing skills or get a low-pressure introduction to sailboat racing. The event will be structured based on the participant’s interest.
Who can participate: FBYC members and non-members.
What to Bring: Must wear properly fitting PFD & closed toe shoes, bring hat, sunglasses, water, sunscreen . Bring a handheld VHF radio if you have one. Bring your own sandwich/snack/water for lunch on the water.
Boats type: Flying Scots are available through the Club boat program. Sail your own boat under 19 ft. M15, Flying Scot, ILCA, Hobie or other small boat. Members – no charge, non -members $50/boat)
Training and Club Boat Options:
Registration/Fees: All participants are asked to register. Event registration, information and notices can be found at the event website on Regatta Network
Social: Relax after a day on the water to recount your adventures with fellow sailors. Food/beer/wine/water/soft drinks will be provided.
Program:
Training Notes: Custom in boat instruction in either your boat or a Club boat limited to 8 students/4 coached boats: ($25/Student). We emphasize quality over quantity (2, maximum 3 students+ Coach)/boat. Introduction to Racing requires a minimum of three boats registered and coaching will be available on the water.
