CREW TRAINING 2025

Fishing Bay Yacht Club is excited to offer our popular Annual Crew Training Sailing Course, designed for both newcomers and those with some sailing experience. Whether you’re looking to get started in sailing or enhance your skills, this course is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the excitement of a team sport that offers a lifetime of fun. Sailing is a sport for all ages, and racing brings it to a whole new level!

Course Details: The course includes three classroom sessions in Richmond and a practical on-the-water session in Deltaville (approximately 70 minutes east of Richmond). You'll receive expert instruction from experienced FBYC racing skippers and crew, with backgrounds in local, national, and international racing. Plus, you’ll get hands-on experience aboard FBYC’s racing boats.

What’s Included:

• Three classroom sessions
• On-the-water practice
• Course handbook with racing schedule for 2025
• Refreshments and social to meet the skippers

Registration Information:

• Fee: $60 (includes course materials, refreshments, and social)
• Who: Open to adult beginners and intermediate sailors who want to learn how to crew on race boats. The course is available to both FBYC members and non-members.
• When:
• Classroom Sessions: Tuesdays, March 25, April 1, and April 8 from 6:30 – 9:00 PM
• Meet the Skippers: Friday, April 11 from 6:30 – 9:00 PM
• On-the-water Training: Saturday, April 19 (full day)
• Where:
• Classroom Sessions: 6802 Paragon Place, 5th Floor, Richmond, VA 23230
• Meet the Skippers: Richmond restaurant (TBD)
• On-the-water Training: Fishing Bay Yacht Club, Deltaville, VA
