A Weekend in Irvington
We have endured a very cold winter and our reward is the beginning of sailing season!
Whether your boat is in the water and you are ready to sail or you are still in asphalt cruise mode, join us for a delightful weekend, filled with good friends, good conversation, and good food. We will start the weekend with a happy hour on Friday night at 6:00 at the clubhouse. Alison and Doug will provide light hors d’oeuvres. Please bring your own beverages. We will sail Saturday to Seabright Marina (97 Crocketts Landing, Irvington). The marina is located on the right side of Carter Creek and just before the Tides Inn. ITHAKA will be on the dock watching for all cruisers. We do not have a large FBYC burgee, but would love to borrow one for the event.
Dockage: The marina normally has only year long slip holders. At this time of year, there will be some open slips plus there is a T-head and side tie space as well. As we get closer to the event, there may be some slips available based on how many boats at the marina are still on the hard. More specific information to follow. Boats can also anchor in Carters Creek.
We encourage cruisers whose boats are not ready to drive up and join everyone. We will convene on the dock of Seabright Marina at 4:30 for cocktails and appetizers. Please bring an appetizer to share and your own beverage. From there, we will walk up the hill to a restaurant to be determined in Irvington. The walk will be approximately one mile but we will have a car available plus others who are driving, if you prefer transportation.
Drop by Doug and Alison’s boat, Ithaka, Sunday morning for coffee and pastries before heading back to Deltaville.
