FBYC ANNUAL JUNIOR REGATTA (register here)
June 21-22 2025, which is the weekend immediately following our summer kick-off camp called Junior Week. We encourage all Junior Week sailors to attend this 2-day regatta, and will offer a Green Fleet seminar and on-the-water coaching for novice racers (and their parents!) making that first step into regatta racing. Additional racing will include Red/White/Blue Opti Divisions, Laser Radials, and 420s. Open to all juniors. Club boats will be available for those without their own (on a first-come, first-served basis).
This junior regatta will consist of two days of racing. The planned format will be three separate courses: 1) ILCA 6 (Laser Radial) and maybe ILCA 4, C420s & 29ers; 2) Optimist Red/Blue/White (as defined by USODA) and; 3) Optimist Green. Opti Green fleet will sail it's own course close to the docks and is great for first timers. In addition to the separate course, the Opti Green fleet will also receive coaching. Please volunteer and help. It's a great way to be connected and give back."

ANNUAL ONE-DESIGN (AOD) REGATTA & OTHER REGATTAS
The AOD regatta is a great one in mid-summer (late July) each year. Over the two-days, it is a great way to enjoy the water and a great party. Juniors can sail in Optimists, ILCA (Lasers), or c420s, or they can join in with many of the other classes of boats that would likely love to have juniors join them as crew.
There are many opportunities throughout the year to get out in boats including bigger keelboats (called offshore, but they sail mostly day-time races right from the club). Here is a list of both one-design & offshore regattas at FBYC, and there are many more throughout the Chesapeake Bay and country.
