Plans are to move Michelob Ultra, a.k.a. PlayStation, the mega cat, to new quarters at Norfolk Yacht and Country Club. In a week or so, as you zoom over the Hampton Boulevard bridge in Norfolk, look west (toward the mouth of the Layfayette at the Elizabeth River and, if she has arrived at her new digs, you will see her mast. The timing on this could, of course, be impacted by Hurricane Isabel's attitude.

Bob
Mosby and the Cyrano crew won the PHRF A fleet at the 3rd Annual

the starting line and were rewarded with a great racing day (8-15 knots,

Dave McConaughy Takes 2nd in J/30 North Americans: The No Name J/30, a.k.a. The White Boat ,a.k.a. #090, finished 2nd in the 24 boat fleet racing for three days in Annapolis to determine the J30 One Design Class North American Championship. The fleet sailed 6 races, allowing one throw out. McConaughy's string of finishes was 7-1-3-[11]-5-6. Another Top 5 finisher familiar to many southern Bay racers is Bob Rutsch, CBYRA president, who was at the 2002 Region 4 awards dinner last January. Bob took 4th place in the regatta. Congrats to both!
PHRF CERT Reminder: Fall racing is underway. If you do not have your 2003 valid certificate, or the certificate you have does not reflect accurately the configuration of your boat, you need to get it right. Only PHRF can adjust your rating. Your PHRF certificate is not a do-it-yourself thing. Contact PHRF at 410-414-3270 on how to apply for a change. Stay legal; race fair.

MURPHY'S LAW: A serious time for southern Bay sailors. With Isabel heading this way, conventional wisdom says look out for your boat now, so you have all the time you need to tend to family and property. Make her snug and, hopefully, we'll all be racing this coming weekend. Living to race, racing to live. /s/ Murphy the Racing Beagle
