Think of it! The masts for the schooner
Virginia, turned in a water bath lathe in the State of
Washington, are from 95' Douglas Firs grown in British Columbia.
Virginia's "iron genny" already has arrived courtesy the combined
efforts of Caterpillar, Carter Machinery, and Bay Diesel.
Better check her out soon - it won't be long before hull planks will be
going on the frames.
MURPHY'S LAW:
Happy Birthday, George Washington! Wasn't he the one in the
painting standing up in the bow of the boat while they rowed across the
Delaware? Army guy; therefore, tough! IF a racer, probably
of the bowman/foredeck persuasion! Bet he looked good on the starting
line, though! Living to race, racing to live. /s/ Murphy the
Racing Beagle
