So, you want to be on the Race Committee team - here's a great way to get ready and it's going to happen right here in the southern Chesapeake Bay.  The US SAILING Basic Race Management Seminar will be hosted by Hampton Yacht Club in two, half-day sessions, February 14-15, 2009.  Cost is $50 for US SAILING members and $60 for non-members.  This is a great course for those with race committee experience as well as those who are considering becoming involved.  John McCarthy, advanced Race Officer and certified Judge, will be lead instructor and will be assisted by certified Club Race Officer Glenn Giles.  For additional information and/or to register, contact Lin …

FBYC FALL CLEAN-UP DAY On Saturday, November 15, at 9:00 a.m., we’ll need as many volunteers as possible to spruce up FBYC’s grounds. We’ll be raking leaves, spreading mulch, and various other tasks so please bring your rakes and shovels. Coffee will be provided to get you started and we’ll end the morning’s work with pizza and beer. In the event of rain, we’ll reschedule and I’ll let you know by email. PHRF OF THE CHESAPEAKE annual Board of Delegates Meeting, Saturday, November 8, 2008, at Annapolis Yacht Club.  If you have questions, Executive Secretary Stewart Buckler asks that you contact him at (410) 414-3270.  Delegate check-in begins at 0900 and meeting at 1000.  If you have specific concerns, you should let your club's delegate to PHRF or the Region 4 VP (Mike Dale) know immediately.  You can check out the meeting agenda at www.phrfchesbay.com   Remember, this is where PHRF class policies and procedures (equipment requirements, fleet splits, etc.) are determined; it is not the place for individual boat handicap issues - the PHRF Handicappers resolve those.
