Dear FBYC Adult Members:

I have been asked by the Tides Inn and RRYC Commodore to forward this opportunity to you, which is self explanatory if you review the message and entry form, and looks like fun for one or more Fishing Bay Boats, either sail or power.

We are trying to arrange to display this Trophy at our Closing Dinner on November 7 a a means of promoting competition on Carters Creek on December 4 and 5. As an intra-club gesture, it would be nice if a boat represented FBYC in the parade.

Chesapeake Bay Laser Masters Results

Twenty Five Lasers battled some windy conditions at the 2009 Chesapeake Bay Laser Masters Championship. 4 races were sailed Saturday in 13-18. Saturday night all of the sailor's were treated to Alain Vincey's world famous Laser Masters dinner. Sunday, the sailors got in 2 races in 17 knots with gusts to 25.

John Bertrand (Annapolis Yacht Club) won all 6 races to finish 1st overall and 1st Master. Peter Seidenberg (Sail Newport) was 2 points behind and first Great Grand Master. James Jacob (FBYC) was 3rd overall and 2nd Master. Gary Orkney (WYC) was first Grand Master, and Don Hahl (BBYC) was 2nd Grand Master. 1st Apprentice was Ted Morgan (SSA), 2nd Apprentice was Mike Heffernan. First woman …

USODA approves FBYC as host of the 2010 Optimist Nationals

FBYC in conjunction with Deltaville Boatyard, Deltaville Marina, Deltaville Maritime Museum, The Harbor House and Jackson Creek Condo association will host USODA Nationals July 17-25th. USODA notified FBYC Friday October 16th that their application and proposal has been accepted. With help from key members from the Deltaville Community FBYC submitted a detailed proposal that has been enthusiastically accepted by the community, the FBYC Board, USODA, and over 60 volunteers!

Deltaville Maritime Museum will host all land based activities for the event to include: main event tent, food offerings, retail opportunities and parking. The adjacent Deltaville Boatyard and Marina is where 330 plus Optimist sailors will rig and launch. The Jackson Creek Condo Association allows participants to cross from the Museum …

For everyone who will be joining us for the Chesapeake Bay Laser Master's Championship this weekend I would like to welcome you to Fishing Bay Yacht Club. We have a great regatta planned and a great group of competitors coming so it should be a lot of fun.

Oct. 24th Oyster Roast

This is notification of the Oct. 24th Oyster Roast and Share Dish Social. FBYC will provide beer, soft drinks and oysters.

Please bring a share dish for +/- 8 people such as soup, stew, brats and dogs with kraut, etc. and a means to serve it. If you have oyster knives and work gloves, bring them too.

Please sign up on line for the race. If you're not racing use the word "simply" as your boat name. This will give us a head count for the social.
