This Saturday the Laser Fleet will hold their final and the club's final organized race of 2014 at Fishing Bay Yacht Club. This is also the 4th and final day of the Laser Series and will help decide the winner of the Blanton Bowl
Expect air and water temperatures to be in the 60's so dress accordingly. Wetsuit/Drysuit not required, but if you start swimming, plan to sail in immediately and park yourself in front of a fireplace.

The FBYC 2013 Laser Race Team had a fantastic summer! They raced across the Bay and took a week trip to the Laser North Americans in Kingston, Ontario. The team was coached by Gabriel “Tank” Moran, of Ecuador. In addition to being a world class sailor and coach, Gabriel is a professional photographer and videographer. FBYC Fall Clean-Up Is Scheduled For
Saturday, November 23rd
Mark your calendars! On Saturday, November 23rd, at 9:00 am, we will have our annual FALL CLEAN-UP of the Club Grounds. We will gather in the Main Clubhouse around 8:30 am for coffee and task assignments. Usual tasks include leaf raking, mulching and pruning. Bring your favorite yard tool or use ours. Another racing season is coming to a close. So…what better way to adjust to the winter doldrums than to come out and join the fun this Saturday for the FBYC annual oyster shuck and roast? Sign up online and join the fleet for a pursuit race around government marks in the vicinity of the Piankatank River and Fishing Bay. The pursuit race is OPEN to ALL boats! This means even if you don’t race or don’t have a PHRF certificate, a rating will be assigned to you and you can come join in the fun. Offshore Fall Series final standings are posted here. Congratulations to the fleet winners. There was close competition this Fall and first place ties in two out of the four divisions (PHRF A and PHRF C)! Remember the standings are done using high points with a 51% participation requirement.

Offshore Fall Series III is this Saturday. The standings remain tight with several tie breakers in effect. Remember - standings for series events this year are scored following the High Point Percentage scoring system - so you need a minimum of 51% participation to qualify for the series. You can get a glimpse of the interim standings here.
