2014 Laser Frostbite Regatta Results

The Laser Fleet closed out their series with a Frostbite day of racing on Sunday in light winds with 9 boats. We had a little bit of a mix up on the scores and I want to apologize for not checking them before the awards as it wasn't until later that we realized they were missing the drop and so what we thought was the final order on Sunday was incorrect.
Stephen Sparkman sailed great all day putting up 3 bullets and ultimately won the day by just 1 making this his first podium finish since returning to the club and the Laser this summer. Jon Deutsch ended up 2nd and Clark Dennison finished 3rd.
The races were sailed mostly in light air with a bit of a build and persistant shift from West to North to East throughout the day keeping the race committee on their toes and shifting the course before each of the 7 races.
The final race was a unique W1 with a mile leg upwind to the FBYC dock won by Clark Dennison. Following racing Janice Moore made a great chili as the sailors warmed up post-racing.
We'd like to also thank a few visitors - Kevin Crowley from DC and Mike Waters from Annapolis for making the trip. And thank you to the race committee for running races and making it fun despite the winds.
