Memorial Weekend is fast approaching.  Please Save the Date(s) for:

 

Saturday, May 24 - Family & Junior Alumni Regatta / Social - This family-friendly event encourages and promotes families who sail together. The skipper/crew combination must be family members. They can be of any age and relationship, such as, but not limited to, father-son, mother-daughter, wife-husband, grandparent-grandchild, siblings, cousins, etc. Juniors are welcome and encouraged. FBYC Junior Program alumni are welcome to single hand or race together regardless of relationship. Racing will feature multiple races of small course buoy racing on the Piankatank River near Fishing Bay.

 

Sunday, May 25 Offshore Racing, the Infamous Sunflower Raft-up, Open House, Dinner and Social - for ALL FBYC Members and their Guests.

Opening Day Regatta and Blessing of the Fleet 

Saturday, April 26, 2025 

A time-honored FBYC tradition,  the Blessing of the Fleet will be held at 5:30 pm.  The bar opens at 5 pm, followed by a fresh surf and turf-style menu at 6 pm! A live band, Second Wind, will be providing entertainment.  

Tickets should be purchased by Friday, April 18th. After this date, limited tickets may be available but are not guaranteed.

Interested or Curious about what Race Committee's do, and how YOU can participate this season??   Then this Race Committee 101 workshop is for you! !!!. This beginning seminar  is geared for the just curious,  those new to FBYC looking for a way to plug in, for racing crew members who want to rotate from racer to RC, or for those who want to get out on the water and watch a race unfold. 


Race Management Committee members will review the roles of folks on the Race Committee boats, who does what, and how you can participate. We'll then go to the NEW RC shed and show you around. Reps from the …

Art on Fishing Bay Returns!

Arts of FB

For the fourth consecutive year, Arts on Fishing Bay will offer a seasonal showing of nautically
related art by members and their families. The scope, variety, and quality of our members’
artistic pursuits, always inspired by their love of the Chesapeake and the sport of sailing, is
amazing, as evidenced by the variety of works and materials from our past contributors, Stella
Jones, Lolly Heyward, Lew Thatcher, Carole Vaughn, Izumi Miller, and Lyons Burke. We have
seen watercolor and oil paintings, collages, intricate pencil renditions, and picture quilts. This
year we will venture into marine photography with a showing of spectacular on-the-water
scenes, presented by Paul Almany, and into the rarified world of hanging three dimensional
forms using homemade papers …
