2104 Annual Cut Channel Race

The Annual Cut Channel Race is this Saturday with the first warning at 11 AM or as the NOR states "1100 hours." Noel Clinard is the PRO and Bonnie Black is hosting a dinner at the main clubhouse following the race where awards and refreshments will also be served. If you haven't registered already, please do so. Also, if you would give Bonnie a heads up if you plan on doing dinner afterwards.

Currently, there are 3 boats in each of the A & B fleets respectively and 4 boats in each of the C & NS fleets respectively. So please encourage additional folks to register and join us. I believe there is a direct relationship between number of boats and the funometer (pronounced fun-ahm-iter). And unlike the Redskins, the patent office can't take the fun out of my "funometer."

With temperatures predicted in the lower 80s, this may prove to be one of the coolest cut channel events in some time (remember 95 degrees and 98% humidity?). It is early in the week regarding weather predictions, but breezes are predicted out of the ESE and tides are near max flood around 1130ish at Cherry Point. Might be an interesting haul over to the cut depending if and when the sea breeze comes in. So if we get the funometer cranking we will have more wind than the Newport to Bermuda race and not have to travel as far - at least that's what it says on the box. Who's with me?

If you have any questions, please let me know - I always eagerly await commentary. Thanks!

Paul.
