TO PHRF FLEET SPLITS FOR THE SOUTHERN BAY for 2005 SEASON:
Current PHRF Southern Bay Region Vice-President Randy
Pugh has announced that at last week's meeting of PHRF skippers,
the following PHRF Fleet Split CHANGES were approved: A
Fleet: Up to 116; B Fleet: 117 to 166;
C Fleet: 167 and up. He said the changes will be
carried forward as proposals to the Annual PHRF (Bay-wide) Meeting to be
held Saturday, November 13, at Annapolis Yacht Club. For

CCV AWARDS PARTY AND YEAR END BASH:
NOVEMBER 12 (FRIDAY) AT THE RADISSON HOTEL IN DOWNTOWN
HAMPTON ON THE WATERFRONT. Great food, drink, music, dancing, awards, and

No Frost in Frostbite Race
#1 (of 5) - not that anyone is complaining. The winds were
perfect for racing, 12-18 knots, and the air temperature was in the
low 80s! More like September than November eve. Twenty - three boats
showed up on the "round fixed marks" course and zipped home in time for the
second half of the late afternoon NFL game. RESULTS:

When Namesake,
Craig Olsen's Olson 30, did the 'Round the Lights Race
just over a week ago, she topped out at 13.4 knots. Namesake finished
second in PHRF A, where everyone is bigger and longer.
Schooner
Amistad America arrives in Hampton on this Thursday,
November 4th, to stay through November 10th. The 130'
Amistad America is hosted by the
Hampton University Sailing Team. She will be docked at
the public piers in front of the Radisson Hotel in downtown Hampton.

Plans are afoot for the
Amistad America to serve as the race committee boat for the start of
the 2004 Caribbean 1500 on Sunday, November 7th.
Henry Amthor and Dustin
Romey Lead 2004 Chesapeake 505 Championship Series:
Sailing in Annapolis, Henry Amthor (HYC) sailed with Dustin
Romey (SSA) to win the weekend among 17 teams competing. Congrats to
Henry!

Fling regatta is this coming weekend, November 6-7,

Kudos to James
Jacobs, who finished 3rd in the Masters Division and
4th overall at the recent Chesapeake Bay Laser Masters Championships
sailed in Fishing Bay earlier in October.
Old Dominion University
hosted a high school regatta this weekend and team from the
southside of Hampton Roads, Norfolk Collegiate School,
won handily. "Nice going," to the Granby Street bunch.
MURPHY'S
LAW: This coming weekend, thunderstorms are not
predicted, even though a bunch of Lightnings are expected to hit
