today!!! 51 beautiful boats headed for Tortola - and blue water
adventure.
Frostbite Race #2 - The second of the five
race series enjoyed Florida like temps and great racing breezes, gusting into
the twenties all afternoon long. Twenty-nine boats enjoyed the day.

Shedding More Light: Wolf Trap Light
(see SBRNYCU issue #272) is not the only Chesapeake Bay lighthouse sold
recently to individuals. Thimble Shoal went for
$65,000 to Smithfield resident Peter Jurewicz and Middle Ground
was purchased by Robert Gonsoulin (Williamsburg) for $31,000. David
McNally bought Smith Point Lighthouse for $170,000.
Diane Tennant, a writer for The Virginian-Pilot wrote
a blow by blow account of the auction of Smith Point that is a great read
in the October 27, 2005, issue of The Pilot.
The 5o5s are coming to the Hampton Yacht Club Fall
Regatta this coming weekend - Nov 12 & 13. For info contact

In the collegiate War Memorial Regatta last
weekend, Old Dominion finished 7th, Christopher Newport 17th, and the Hampton U
team did not sail in this regatta.
MURPHY'S LAW: The weekend
racing was dirty dawg perfect. The frost did not bite, the wind howled
just right, and there was nip in the rum to get the job done!
