will actually vote on the splits proposals. As racers this is your
chance for input. Let the delegate (s) of your club(s) know where you
stand. Make sure you will be represented at this important meeting.

Hampton. (That's a couple blocks down from the cannon at
HYC). Get there early to get a good seat!
On this Christmas evening, when the holiday
celebration as calmed and you are having your mid-night snack, think
about the scene on the Delaware River in 1776. George Washington, at
dusk , had loaded his army into open boats to cross the Delaware
to take on the Hessian and British troops in New Jersey.
Fighting snow, sleet, and howling wind, the crossing was completed at 3AM
(December 26). The rest is history.

Jingle your bells - go racing!

That's Tough! Yesterday afternoon the wind
was blowing feathers off seagulls and the temperature was sinking like a
stone. Yet, one of the toughest sailors in Hampton Roads was sailing
his Optimist Dinghy out of Norfolk Yacht & Country Club on the
Lafayette River (Norfolk).
It's official - Butch Paterson is about to
take delivery on his "new to him" Santana 30/30 GP - Schock Full o'
Nuts. Butch plans to have her at Cobb's Marina (Norfolk) while he
gets her ready for her debut in Spring Series.
The 63rd Sydney Hobart Yacht Race starts from
Sydney Harbour at 1:00PM on Wednesday, December 26th.

early in January. Print it, complete it, and mail back the hardcopy right
away. As Larry would say, "Get her done!" If you are a non-email
person, don't worry - CCV intends to send out a hardcopy of the form to you by
snail mail.

Murphy, The Racing Beagle
MURPHY'S LAW: It
is difficult to see him, but if you look closely at that famous painting of
General Washington crossing the Delaware, you will see cousin LT General Beau
Beagle, to the General's left, port side of the
boat. Cousin Beau was actually the first to bound ashore in
Jersey! /S/ Murphy the
Racing Beagle, the sailing spirit in us all.
