Congratulations to CAROLYN GRANT and JIM
MILLER - These two southern Bay racing notables, Carolyn,
until this past year, was head sailing coach of the Hampton University Sailing
Team, and Jim heads up the Doyle Sailing Loft in Hampton, both sailed on
teams in the 2008 One Design Worlds in San Francisco this past week
(September 28 - October 3). Carolyn was part of the Fishers Island
Team which took first place in the 8 race event. Kudos are due
and freely given!
October offers three "change of pace" events in the
southern Bay: Turkeys, Schooners, and
Lighthouses!

by Old Point Comfort Yacht Club. This is a CBYRA sanctioned
event for PHRF boats and it counts in the Chesapeake Bay Distance Race

CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS. To prevent this, call the following number from
your cell phone: 888 - 382-1222 - the National

MURPHY'S LAW: Turkeys, Schooners, and Lighthouses, sounds like a title for a novel about the southern Chesapeake Bay. Yrs Truly, the Racing Beagle, envisions a significant, supporting role in the movie version for an especially sensitive and intelligent "fur person" who races on sailboats! My agent is standing by the phone. /S/ Murphy the Racing Beagle, the sailing spirit in us all.
