ANNA IS US
SAILING’s 2008 SportsWoman of
the Year! Below is quoted directly from an official US
SAILING public relations release:
Anna Tunnicliffe won a coveted gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Qingdao, China, entering the history books as the first American female sailor in 20 years to win gold at the Olympic Games. ... US Sailing Team Coach Luther Carpenter (La Porte, Texas), said, “Anna is your dream athlete. She’s a hard worker, in amazing shape, very open to coaching, completely driven and she sees a path clearly to winning.”

In case you missed this in the holiday crush - Junior Sailing
Programs: Word is that ACL barge lines in Louisville has a
number of 13.5' Zodiacs in their warehouse that have never been
used. The company paid $15,500 each, and they'll sell them for
$10,000 each. They have center consoles, and 30-hp Mercury fuel
injected, four cycle engines. Very stable; would be great for Junior
Sail training, etc. Anyone interested should contact Christian
Primm directly at cdprimm@aclines.com.
HARBORFEST - JULY 3rd to JULY 5th - is a long, long way off,
but the folks at Norfolk's FestEvents want everyone to know that
Harborfest boat slip reservations are available now. The
plan is to commemorate the Grand Opening of the revitalized Town Point Park,
celebrate the 33rd Harborfest, and party in honor of our Nation's independence
all in one great weekend on Norfolk's downtown waterfront. For info,
please contact James Scruggs at scruggsj@festevents.org or
phone him at (757) 441-2345, x-3019. Now's the time to think ressies, if
you want to be at the center of the action!
