New marks are here!! CCV and Hampton
Yacht Club have shared resources in order to provide new race
marks for a number of their events in the Hampton Roads area.
Obviously, race equipment does not come cheap and the replacements marks have
been needed for some time. They will see action throughout the coming
season. Racers, of course, should do their best not to hit them - for lots
of reasons!
NEW Mailing Address for CCV - Cruising Club
of Virginia (CCV Racing) has a new mailing address - club officials ask that
racers please use this address when submitting membership applications,

wanted to attend, SBRNYCU has arranged for a second session of
MURPHY RULES - 2009. MURPHY 2 will be identical to
the Jan 24th session, but will be held on Saturday, March 21st at
Hampton Yacht Club. There are a very limited number of seats still
available for MURPHY 2. For information and/or to pre-register for MURPHY

MURPHY'S LAW: Speaking of race
marks... Yrs Truly, the Racing Beagle, is well
aware of just how tough a race mark has to be, having had close encounters
with marks a number of times. The personal history of a race mark
often includes bumping, dragging, deflating, puncturing, mildew, and hanging for
extended periods in hot sun and extreme temperatures! Physical wear and
tear does take its toll. Marks endure even more verbal
abuse, but they don't seem to let that bother
them! /S/ Murphy the
Racing Beagle, the sailing spirit in us all.
