BABY'S BOTTOM: If you plan to do her
bottom this spring, you might want to check right now with your paint
salesman. Rumor has it that some of the paint companies will be increasing
their prices ... very soon.
Southern Bay Race Week officials have added for 2009 a
PHRF Non-Spin 1 fleet which will be for racers
who choose to race with a single headsail only. This is an official
PHRF fleet and racers must have a current valid rating certificate from
PHRF of the Chesapeake. The first boat entered in the fleet is
BOBINSKI, skippered by Bob Hausmann
(BBSA). (Note: for non-spinnaker racers, SBRW also offers
fleets for PHRF Non-Spin 2 (double headsail is allowed) and Cruising (non-PHRF,
one headsail only).
DOWN THE BAY (May 22 start) notes...
Add three more to the 60th running of the DTB fleet: Joining
Meridian 2 (Sledd Shelhorse, Virginia Beach)
are: Pursuit (Norman Dawley. Lusby, MD);
Scheihallion (Brad Miller, Hanover, VA) and
Callinectes (Ben Cuker, Hampton, VA). a number
of the boats doing DTB are planning to stay in Hampton to race in SOUTHERN
BAY RACE WEEK (May 29-31) - SBRW is a CBYRA "wild card" event and points earned
there will count toward everyone's (any home region) CBYRA
High Point standing.
MURPHY'S LAW: Yrs Truly,
the Racing Beagle, recommends Dove chocolate for Valentine's day....
or chocolate squirrels. That's good stuff!
