He is also working on a book; the topic is wrapped around his professional
involvement with the computer-ization of traffic flow and control, etc. He
will be in the Hampton Roads area for a few weeks from September
22nd to mid October. Jimmie trimmed on PHRF A boats Feather

Mike Martin, who won the 505 Worlds a couple
of weeks ago, has been recalled by a lot of southern Bay racers who
track him back to his roots on the Chesapeake, racing out of Alexandria,
Virginia, and as an outstanding sailor at Old Dominion
University in the 1980s. And, Frank Murphy noted that
Mike "...is also the only person to win the 505 Worlds as a skipper and
crew."

MURPHY'S LAW: These
multiple day regattas can wear down any crew dog. Yrs Truly, the
Racing Beagle, has a suggestion for a new position on race
boats. The time has come for a Sailing Sherpa! Mainsail
trimmer starts to lose concentration, give the mainsheet to the Sherpa;
catch the navigator dozing at the chart stand, call in the
Sherpa; lose your bowman in the tangled spinnaker below
decks, the Sherpa can find him. Etc, etc.
/S/ Murphy the Racing Beagle, the
sailing spirit in us all.
