onAfter suffering a mell of a hess last spring upon encountering
"an uncharted rock in the Baltimore Channel entrance of the Chesapeake Bay
Bridge-Tunnel. . . ", Flying Colors, Richard Payne's
J105, is home and racing. That's a good thing!

More southern Bay racer wedding bells on the horizon -
Rodney Paice and Beth Modlin are tying the knot in early July.
Rodney most recently has been sailing his Pearson 26, WiKi WiKi, in the
PHRF C fleet. Congratulations!
Early season williwaws
of snafus struck yesterday - Ali-Ru (John Lones) ". . .was all
set to mix it up in her CCV debut….but while leaving the slip, the
propeller shaft went backwards faster than the boat. Yep, first race of
the year and the propeller shaft pulls out from the coupling. No
damage…but need to be reassembled and aligned."
The army of spring crabpots hit several boats,
including one mark boat and also, one windward mark. And, then there
was the winch that wouldn't, the steering cable that snapped, the halyard
that would not run, and the . . . 'TIS
SPRING!
Forgot to pick up your 2011 CCV Racing
Guide? The Guides are available to CCV
Members from Hampton Yacht Club Manager Richard Ash in the HYC
office. If you wish to join CCV, please contact Gina Mynes
at (757) 244-6837.
Mike Veraldi, Quicky, practiced his
MOB drill Sunday, by "rescuing" a nice Musto regatta
hat someone had lost on the race course. Call (757)
850-4225 to identify and claim the hat. Otherwise, it
becomes salvage and Mike will be sporting it next Sunday.
