onFishing Bay racing begins. FBYC Spring Series
got underway after having postponed opening day a
week because of the tornados. After a
stressful week of dealing with storm damages suffered throughout Deltaville and
beyond, the FBYC fleet got down to racing Saturday. They got in three
races. RESULTS: PHRF A (7 boats) 1.Craig
Wright, Afterthought; 2.Sam Mitchener,
Double Eagle; 3.Strother Scott, Loose
Cannon. PHRF B (6 boats) 1.Miles Booth,
Shenanigan; 2.Wayland Rennie,
Trilogy; 3.David Hinckle,
Elancer. PHRF C (5 boats) 1.Brad Miller,
Schiehallion; 2.Noel Clinard,
Prophet; 3.Denton Roberts,
Ardent. Sherard Cole, Nutcracker,
was the only PHRF Non-Spin boat on the water, but he did
all three races anyway! Race Chairman - Matt Lambert
TUNING UP FOR SBRW - Eight (8) SBRW boats
will be racing at the Annapolis NOODS this coming
weekend. Already entered in SBRW and the NOODs are: Eddie
Hornick (Veloce / J105); Michael Karn
(Inevitable / J105); Craig Wright
(Afterthought / J109); Sam Mitchener (Double
Eagle / J109); Ken and Kristen Karsten

CCV SPRING SERIES FINAL DAY - Sunday, May 1 - Race #4
and Race #5. Drop mark courses in Hampton Roads harbor.
Sailors who have CCV Racing Memberships are automatically
entered. All others must submit entry forms and fees no later than

SBRW 2011 fleet update: It's the
Tribe from the
College of William and Mary that is the first collegiate team
to be sailing in SBRW 2011. John Haracivet
(Gloucester, YRYC) has entered his Soverel 33-2, Midnight Rider, in the
PHRF A fleet. Young sailors from the W&M sailing team will do the
racing, with John aboard for advice as required. While they sail mainly
FJs and 420s on the collegiate circuit, these racers won't be unfamiliar with
big boat racing; they have been sailing at York River Yacht Club in the
Wednesday Nights races since last Fall. Joining Midnight
Rider as recent Early Bird Entries are : Schock Full O' Nuts

AZALEA FESTIVAL REGATTA- Saturday, April
30. OPEN TO ALL PHRF A, B, C and Non-Spin (double headsail
allowed) and there will be a Cruising Class (Single Headsail only). If a
one-design keel boat class has 5 entries, a start will be given for that
class. Racing will be in Norfolk's Willoughby Bay area.

Sunday, May 1st - Cruising boats and cruisers
who race will start from Tortola, stop over in Bermuda, and head from
there to Hampton. Expected arrival day in downtown Hampton is May
12th. This is one of the World Cruising Club
events in which Hampton participates.
