The 2001 Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet will be held on Friday, October 26, 2001 at the Country Club of Virginia. The Annual Meeting and cocktails begin at 6:30 followed by dinner and awards.
The agenda for the annual meeting includes reports from your flag officers on the clubs operations during the year, an update on the exciting Fishing Bay clubhouse construction, and election of officers and trustees for the 2001-2002 year.
We are particularly excited about this years dinner. We have worked hard to make sure there are an abundance of choices. It will be served buffet style with main course selections that include baked salmon, beef tournedos, and lemon chicken. These will be accompanied by a variety of salads, vegetables, and desserts. A childrens meal is available for sailors under 12.
The climax of the evening is always the presentation of the annual awards. These awards recognize our racers, cruisers, and juniors for their accomplishments on the water during the last year. It has been a fantastic year at FBYC and our members deserve congratulations. Rumor has it that there are a number of members vying for the Rocking Chair, the award given to the sailor who seems to encounter more than his share of adversity on the water.
No matter whether you were active on the water or stayed on land please make plans now to attend this eventful occasion.
