Annual Smith Point Race

onAttention offshore fleet…
This Saturday, August 24th, is the annual Smith Point race. Last year's race was a great beat up and reach back. The first warning is at 1400 and the full notice of race can be found here.
In addition to a great race, what better way to recount the events of the early morning hours then with a 5 star brunch on Sunday morning at 1000 prepared by FBYC’s very own Cheeky Monkey crew? The menu once again features:
- Made to order crabmeat omelets
- Made to order western style omelets
- Shrimp and grits
- Chesapeake style Bloody Mary’s
Cost is $7 a head and worth every penny.
And last, but not least, we will be inducting the next member of the Smith Point Crab Society. Eligibility to this society (shrouded by secrecy) is simple – the skipper who sails Saturday and who has participated in the most Smith Point Races and finished is treated to free breakfast and a hat for bragging rights. Right now Miles Booth and Wayland Rennie are both candidates for entrance. And coincidentally both skippers were DNF last year. Wayland retired early after hardware failure. And Miles hit a bar about 1/4 mile from the finish...I mean seriously who put that thing there?? So come out, cheer them on, and find out who the next recipient will be!
So sign up ASAP today for racing, brunch, or both. If you just want brunch - sign up as simply coming. This helps us get the ingredients right. If you don't have a chance to get out to the site, just email the social chair: Julie Ann Wash.
As a parting incentive, those who reached Smith Point last year were treated to an amazing sunset. So...why not come see what all the fuss is about?
