Art on Fishing Bay Returns!
Wednesday April 2, 2025 07:20AM
onFor the fourth consecutive year, Arts on Fishing Bay will offer a seasonal showing of nautically
related art by members and their families. The scope, variety, and quality of our members’
artistic pursuits, always inspired by their love of the Chesapeake and the sport of sailing, is
amazing, as evidenced by the variety of works and materials from our past contributors, Stella
Jones, Lolly Heyward, Lew Thatcher, Carole Vaughn, Izumi Miller, and Lyons Burke. We have
seen watercolor and oil paintings, collages, intricate pencil renditions, and picture quilts. This
year we will venture into marine photography with a showing of spectacular on-the-water
scenes, presented by Paul Almany, and into the rarified world of hanging three dimensional
forms using homemade papers, dyes, found materials and images, and a vivid imagination,
presented by Caroline Garrett Hardy, aunt of our very own Caroline Garrett Patrick and Parker
Garrett, and sister of past Commodore Waddy Garrett.
Paul’s photo exhibit can be seen on the second floor of the Main Clubhouse from Opening Day
until the end of July, and Caroline’s works, with a fascinating description of how they are
created, from August until Closing Day. Don’t miss these wonderful showings!
