Christchurch School has recently announced a program that should be of interest to FBYC members, especially those who have participated in the Mobjack Fleet. Enclosed is an invitation that speaks for itself:

Roger Moorman, a Christchurch School 1939 graduate and native of Gloucester Virginia, will be inducted into the Christchurch School’s Hall of Fame for a Life Time Achievement Award on October 13th at 9:30 AM. Roger designed and manufactured the Mobjack, an all fiberglass 17.5 foot boat. This boat reflected a dramatic change in boat manufacturing technology. Mobjack Hull number 68 for sale. $1250.00. Maybe the last boat built in the first mold; making it a true vintage item. Excellent condition with great mast; center board and rudder ready to go. Sails are in fine sailing condition, main just proffesionally tuned and cleaned up. With this fine boat comes original sails with hand written notes by the sailmaker. FBYC Members travel to Mobjack Nat'ls in Lewes

Two Fishing Bay Mobjacks competed in the 43rd Mobjack Nationals in Lewes, Delaware August 16-18. Meg and Tom Roberts placed 6th and Jerry and Cheryl Desvernine placed ninth in the three-day five-race series. Perry and Bev Jones attended as Class Measurer. Meg was earned the Stephanie Anne Ives Memorial Trophy as top Junior skipper and the Top Woman Skipper award. Jerry and Cheryl earned the top husband-wife team award. Results are posted at the Mobjack Web Site (http://mobjack.tripod.com) and the Lewes Yacht Club site (http://www.lewesyc.com). 43rd Mobjack Nationals will be in Delaware August 16-18

The 43rd National Championship for the Mobjacks will be held on August 16-18 at the Lewes Yacht Club in Lewes, Delaware. Lewes is located on the South shore of the Delaware Bay at the mouth - opposite Cape May, NJ and just north of Rehoboth Beach. Christmas at the New Building

Correction - Virgil Miller decorated the Yacht Club for the Deltaville lights boat cruise on Jackson Creek. The Christmas tree is the Flagpole, and the 2 boats are Mobjacks in the parking lot. Thanks for a great job Virgil!

Gene Roberts' service scheduled for Deltaville on Saturday Aug. 11

Gene Roberts, a long time FBYC member and Mobjack one-design sailor, died on Wednesday, August 1, of a massive stroke. His service is scheduled for 11AM on Saturday, August 11, in Deltaville at the "Zoar Church Beach Property". It is located off Route 33 East just past Stingray Harbor Marina, facing the Rappahannock River.Zoar Church uses this beach for interdenominational services every Sunday morning at 8:30AM. We understand most people who attend services there bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on.

The service is the same day as our Annual Regatta. The skipper's meeting for the annual regatta is scheduled for 10:30AM on Saturday with racing to begin at 11:30AM. We will …
