Tuesday April 25, 2017 11:04AM
onOpening Day 2017 started with the annual flag raising ceremony & captain’s meeting for the first race of the year. Tirteen boats participated in five division races in this year’s Opening Day Regatta. Joe Roos & the Flag Officers met with new members in the Clubhouse shortly after racing finished for the day. Please take a minute to welcome these new members!
- Judy Miller
- Rich & Jean Rhame
- JD, Kaitlyn, & Aiden Blackwell
- Craig, Mary, Finn, & Henry Ciszewski
Cocktail hour began in Ric’s Place & the Blessing of the Fleet started shortly after. A great crowd packed into the Clubhouse for Doug Anderson’s annual officiation. The cannon’s blast delighted one of the Club’s new members & startled resident ospreys. Dinner catered by David Napier’s White House & music by the Alex Crain Band topped off the evening. The dark & stormy weather made the Clubhouse cozy with everyone inside. Appropriately, Dark & Stormys were the hot item of the night!
FBYC finished Opening Weekend with first series of Offshore Spring Series races took place on Sunday, April 23rd with eight boats in four division races!
