CRUISE REGATTA

The annual Cruise Regatta is coming up on Saturday, July 30. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this low-key, fun regatta. To be sure there’s fair competition for all, including those who aren’t regular racers, each boat is asked to designate a non-racing helmsman.
The Race will be a staggered start (pursuit) race with Case Whittemore serving as PRO. In order to provide an appropriate handicap, each participant is asked to complete and return a spreadsheet to Case at whittemore.case@gmail.com by July 28. The spreadsheet can be obtained by contacting Case at the above address or Sharon Bauer at sharon.h.bauer@wellsfargo.com if you have not already received it by email. PHRF handicapped racers also need to complete the form so that proper adjustments can be made.
Skippers Meeting: 9:30 am at the Jackson Creek flag pole
The FBYC Offshore Division 2011 General Sailing Instructions, published in the Sailing Events Book, shall govern the race. Also, since this is a staggered start race, a skipper may have the boat’s engine in gear until 5 minutes before that boat/skipper’s start time. Case Whittemore will go over this in more detail at the skippers meeting.
Cocktails and Dinner: Cocktails begin at 5:30 pm
Followed by dinner: Fried Chicken, homemade summer salads, rolls and yummy desserts (are there any other kind?). There will be wine, beer, iced tea, water and some mixers available. Please BYOB if you prefer something else.
You are requested to note on your race registration if you plan to stay for dinner and how many will be in your party or you can email this information to Sharon Bauer at sharon.h.bauer@wellsfargo.com.
