Eric and Alexander Fly the FBYC Colors!

As reported last month, Eric Roos and Alexander Hanna won the Cressy Singlehanded Qualifier sailed in Lasers and Laser Radials on September 13-14 in Oyster Bay, New York. Eric won the Full Rig, and Alexander the Radial, qualifying them for the Cressy Singlehanded Finals at Bellingham Yacht Club, in Washington State, on October 31-November 2. Both families flew out, and both our sailors raced great against the toughest competition in the country! The first day featured heavy, heavy rains and flat calms. The RC kept both fleets on the water for 8 hours in the downpour, and ran only two short races. Late in afternoon the rains cleared and for a few moments the sun sparkled on the mountains around Bellingham Bay. It did not look like Fishing Bay in July! The second day was drier but with shifty 15 knot winds and heavy currents. Our sailors turned in wonderful finishes-Alexander 7th overall in Radials and Eric 14th in Full. The Hanna and Roos families turned the trip into a family vacation, with a lot of sightseeing. Love those FBYC pennies!
