Please sign up via the FBYC website if you are planning to attend this weekend’s event.  The long term forecast looks like we will have great weather featuring a nice breeze and moderate temperatures. 

While we would normally have an FBYC sponsored picnic following the event this year we are encouraging people to bring their own items if they wish to cookout.  The grills will be available and there will be tables and chairs set up to facilitate social distancing.  We want everyone to enjoy the club facilities but we also want all of our members to feel comfortable while on the campus.

DESCRIPTION The Long Distance Race is a handicap race open to any One Design boat 24’ length or under at the waterline. The Portsmouth Yardstick D-PN Handicap System will be used to score finishes. See www.ussailing.org/portsmouth. NO OPTIS WILL RACE IN THE LONG DISTANCE RACE DUE TO LONG DISTANCE AND RISK OF OPPRESSIVE HEAT. REGISTRATION Advance registration is encouraged using sign up link on the event page under Documents at www.fbyc.net. When entering the boat's Portsmouth rating in Regatta Network, please use the look up feature. Once you find your boat in the index click on the appropriate boat code to enter rating. 

LATE REGISTRATION & CHECK IN:   1030 on the downstairs porch of the main clubhouse.

SKIPPERS' MEETING:  1130 - between the club and the Fishing Bay dock.

START:  1300 - There will be one start for all classes. The class flag will be the numeral pennant “9” and the course number will be posted on the signal boat.

COURSE:  The course will use government marks in the Piankatank River and Piankatank Channel:

TIME LIMIT If one boat finishes within 4 hours from the start, the race will be valid for all racers.

AWARDS The skipper of the winning boat will receive the Hicks Trophy upon which his/her name will be engraved. Other awards are as described in the Sailing Instructions.
