onFBYC's Alex Jacob took 1st Place Overall and in Blue Fleet in the 50+ boat Optimist class in both regattas. His colleague Austin Powers followed up with 8th overall at Miles River and 4th overall at Tred Avon. Ben Buhl nudge right in behind him with a 6th overall. Our stalwart Laser Radial sailors Quentin Jenkins and Corina Radtke took 2nd and 5th overall respectively at Miles River and 1st and 4th overall in the 15+ boat fleets at both events. They were joined by their Laser Radial colleagues Annie MacKinnon and Daniel Bageby in the second day of racing at Tred Avon.
In addition, our beginning white and blue fleeters Eric and Conrad Roos and Erin Jacob put in stellar performances at their first championship fleet regattas. Erin Jacob tagged 2nd in the Optimist white fleet at Miles River and 4th in her fleet at Tred Avon. After putting in solid upper fleet performances of 5th and 11th overall at Miles River, Eric and Conrad Roos kept the pace at Tred Avon with a 2nd and 12th overall respectively. Most remarkable was Conrad Roos' finesse in finishing fourth against some of the Bay's top Optimist sailors in the fourth race. This in only his second regatta after graduating from Green Fleet. Also remarkable was his brother Eric's second place finish in the white fleet at Tred Avon. Our hats come off to all the support these kids got from their parents and top notch coaches Alejandro Cloos and Diego Ravecca for one of the best traveling events this season.
