Isabel aftermath

onThese pictures are taken of the Stove Point Road well past the Club on Stove Point. The club is without power and phone service and likely to stay that way for some days, if not weeks. There was no damage to any club boats and Mr. Roberts is close to first in line at Deltaville Dockyard for being put back in the water. One boat at the end of the middle dock received significant damage when the pilings it was tied to failed. Some three other boats in slips received what might be decribed as cosmetic damage but no boats in the Fishing Bay lot appeared to have been damaged. This may be due to a large majority of members heeding the warning that they tie their boats to their trailers or racks and take their masts down.
An announcement about next weekends program will follow, but it goes without saying that there will be plenty of opportunities for repairing docks and cleaning up the grounds. Many boards have already been replaced thanks in particlar to Eric and Austin Powers, David Clark, David Hinkle and Jim Morrison all of whom put in long hours. But most of our thanks must go to Brandy Kennard, our Assistant Manager, for his untiring efforts over the days before Isabel's forecast arrival became an awful reality.
