Laser Tune-Up Sailing
Tuesday April 12, 2005 10:10AM
onThis Saturday, April 16, will be a day of tune-up sailing. We'll plan to arrive at the club around 10 and be on the water by 11. We'll do some drills, pratice starts and do some very short races. We'll stay close to the dock and just get out there to get the cobwebs out. If you can make it, or might be coming, please email Jon (jon-fbyc@jdeutsch.com, 804-305-1244) and let him know.
If you don't have a boat, come anyway. I'm sure at least 2 out of the 3 club boats will be sailable and we should be able to borrow/loan boats as well. Dress warmly with at least a ball cap, sailing gloves, dinghy boots, and long spray pants, jackets. Wet/dry suit won't be absolutely necessary but is highly recommended... We'll stay close to shore, so if you do take a swim you can get back to the club and get in front of the fireplace. We will have use of a chase boat too.
Last week a couple sailors got out there for 8 short Windward-Leward races in SSE winds around 10 knots. The group debriefed over a few drinks at Taylor's restaurant. TONIGHT (and every Tuesday) they'll be out there again... let Alain (anvincey@comcast.net) know if you are planning on being there. Be on the water at 6. Thanks Alain for last weeks report and getting this organized.
